Cayetano ally makes fresh pitch for Speaker’s retention

Using a basketball analogy, a key ally of Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano has again broached the idea of letting the Taguig lawmaker serve a full term as leader of the House by breaking a term-sharing deal with Marinduque Rep. Lord Allan Velasco.

Rep. Michael Defensor of Anakalusugan party-list group urged his colleagues not to change horses in midstream to allow Cayetano to continue leading the 300-strong chamber until 2022. —DJ Yap
