3 injured, 300 families displaced by Manila fire
Three people were injured while over 300 families were displaced after two separate fire incidents broke out in residential areas in Manila on Saturday morning.
The blaze that started on Old Balagtas Street, Barangay 833, Pandacan, spread to 150 houses.
Red Cross volunteer John Cacho sustained second-degree burn on his upper back due to the fire which originated from the ground floor kitchen of a two-story home at 9:55 a.m.
Authorities declared the fire under control at 11:57 a.m. About 300 families were displaced from the fire.
Authorities placed the damage at P2 million. On Abucay Street, Manuguit, Tondo, a fire razed a three-story residential and commercial building and displaced 15 families.
Injured were Allan Altobano, who sustained laceration on his forehead, and Arlo Gimoto, whose arms were burned.
