Palace names new NCCA chair
President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed Arsenio Lizaso as the new chair of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), Malacañang announced in a document released to the media on Friday.
He will succeed National Artist for Literature Virgilio Almario.
Lizaso is currently president of the Cultural Center of the Philippines, a post he has held since June 2017.
He has over six decades of experience as a theater actor and a television and film director.
Lizaso also served as president of the Directors’ Guild of the Philippines from 1983 to 1985. Earlier this year, he was named one of the Ten Outstanding Movers of the Philippines for arts and culture. —Julie M. Aurelio
