Suspected NPA Sparu member nabbed in Masbate

LEGAZPI CITY — A suspected member of the New People’s Army (NPA) Special Partisan Unit (SPARU) was arrested at a police checkpoint on Wednesday in Aroroy town in Masbate, a police report said Thursday.

Arrested was Junie Fabon, 20, alias “Ka Ervin,” of Barangay Poblacion in Baleno town and allegedly a member of the NPA-SPARU under guerrilla front Larangan 1 of the Eddie Rosero “Ka Star” command operating in Masbate province, said Police Maj. Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Bicol police spokesperson.


The suspect was arrested around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday by members of 1st Police Mobile Force Company manning a checkpoint at barangay Bangon, Aroroy town.

Seized from the suspect was a .45 caliber handgun.
