Pasig River ferry service suspends operations due to ‘Ursula’

MMDA eyes 3 more Pasig River ferry stations

MANILA, Philippines — The Pasig River Ferry Service on Tuesday announced the suspension of its operations as Severe Tropical Storm “Ursula” hits the country.

The ferry service said the operations were suspended after the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) raised Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 over Metro Manila.

Normal operations will resume on December 26, the ferry service said.

As of 7 a.m., the state weather bureau said Ursula was spotted 250 kilometers east of Guiuan, Eastern Samar.

It has maximum sustained winds of up to 100 kilometers per hour (km/h) near the center and gustiness of up to 125 km/h.

Ursula is moving westward at 30 km/h.

Pagasa said Ursula is seen to make landfall over Eastern Samar on Tuesday afternoon or evening.
