LEGAZPI CITY — The provincial government of Albay has ordered various local disaster councils to activate and initiate evacuation procedures in areas vulnerable to flooding, lahar, and landslide on Tuesday as Tropical Storm “Ursula” threatens to bring moderate to heavy rains in the province.
Albay Gov. Al Francis Bichara, issued the advisory to evacuate villagers living along river channels prone to flooding and lahar flows including residents along mountain slopes at risk for landslide as a preemptive measure.
On Tuesday morning, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration placed Albay under Storm Signal Number 2.
