Pasigueños happy, surprised over ‘Pamaskong Handog’ food bags
MANILA, Philippines — What could a bag filled with Noche Buena food items make a resident of Pasig City feel this Christmas season? Happiness.
This was evident from the reaction of Pasigueños who were mostly surprised about receiving Christmas bags from the local government despite being a resident of the city for decades.
For one, actress Coney Reyes, the mother of Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto, shared on her Instagram account her elation over the Christmas bags.
“I cannot contain my joy! Yes! I received my Pamaskong Handog from Pasig City today! The first I have ever received all these 33 years that I have been residing here,” said Reyes, also thanking volunteers for conducting house-to-house visits to give away the Christmas food packs.

The city government started giving away the Christmas bags as early as November. The local government said more than 400,000 Christmas bags would be given away to residents of Pasig.
