/ 06:46 PM December 31, 2011

A suspected robber was killed before dawn of New Year’s Eve in an alleged shoot-out with policemen shortly after he allegedly robbed a woman of cash in Manila.

The still unidentified man, described to be between 35 and 45 years old, 5’2”-tall, sporting long hair, and clad in a gray long-sleeved shirt worn over a pair of khaki shorts, died instantly from multiple bullet wounds in the head and body.

SPO2 Edmund Cabal, of the Manila Police District homicide section, said the responding lawmen from MPD Moriones, Tondo, Station 2, recovered a .38 caliber revolver and a pink bag from the suspect.

Cabal said the alert policemen responded to the plea for help by 21-year-old Christine Garcia who had been held up by the suspect at around 12:30 a.m. along C.M. Recto Avenue in Binondo.

Garcia had just bought some fruits in the area when she was held up, Cabal added.
