MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 3.9 earthquake rocked Davao del Sur Thursday afternoon, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
In a bulletin issued by Phivolcs, the temblor reportedly hit 16 kilometers southwest of Sulop, Davao del Sur at 1:56 p.m..
The quake was of tectonic origin and had a depth of 16 kilometers.
Intensity IV was recorded in Marungon, Sarangani.
The quake was also felt at Instrumental Intensity II in Alabel, Sarangani and Tupi, South Cotabato; and Instrumental Intensity I in Kidapawan City.
According to Phivolcs, no aftershocks or damage are expected.
Last Sunday afternoon, a magnitude 6.9 earthquake struck the neighboring town of Padada, claiming 11 lives so far.
