MANILA, Philippines — Two alleged high-value drug targets were arrested by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) after yielding some 500 grams of suspected “shabu” (crystal meth) worth P3.4 million in a buy-bust operation in Manila on Monday.

Joel Plaza, director of the PDEA National Capital Region office, identified the suspects as Nasmudin Zacaria, 28, and Saudi Kayog, 24.

“Several reports were received by our operatives about the involvement of the above-mentioned drug suspects in illegal drug peddling in some parts of Metro Manila,” Plaza said.

He said the operation started at 3:50 p.m. at Rizal Park.

The suspects will face a case for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (Republic Act No. 9165).
