MANILA, Philippines — Thirty-five new key positions for police colonels have been created or upgraded in the organizational structure of districts in the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), the Philippine National Police (PNP) said Tuesday.

Lt. Gen. Archie Gamboa, PNP officer-in-charge, said the organizational structure was approved by the National Police Commission (Napolcom) through Resolution No. 2019-867 signed on November 12.

He said the restructuring of districts and creation of support units in the NCRPO will allow more opportunities at career advancement for its personnel and will assure better delivery of police services to the community.

Under the Napolcom resolution, the total number of police stations under the Manila Police District will be increased from 11 to 14 while the police community precincts (PCPs) will be raised from 42 to 45.

The Quezon City Police District, meanwhile, will have additional four police stations and 12 PCPs.

Gamboa said this will increase the existing police-to-population ratio to address manpower shortage in the said districts.
