62 typhoon-displaced families still in Sorsogon evacuation center
LEGAZPI CITY – Sixty two families who left their homes and sought refuge from Typhoon Tisoy in two villages in Pilar, Sorsogon are still in evacuation centers.
Arnol Lista, the municipal disaster risk reduction and management officer, said Monday that the families still live in evacuation centers because they have no home to go to.
“They might still live in evacuation centers for a while,” Lista said in a phone interview.
“Their houses have been washed out.”
Barangays Dao and Binanuahan are two villages facing Pilar Bay.
Lista said that the evacuees are in need of sleeping mats, blankets, and hygiene kits.
