Former overseas worker falls in Quezon drug sting

LUCENA CITY – Police arrested a former overseas worker when she was caught allegedly selling “shabu” (crystal meth) in a buy-bust operation in Tayabas City on Saturday night, police said Sunday.

Rhysan Malubay, 39, who used to work abroad, was nabbed by anti-illegal drugs operatives after she sold shabu to an undercover police officer in Barangay (village) Isabang around 8:10 p.m.

The suspect yielded four plastic sachets of shabu weighing 15.2 grams worth P84,360 in the street market at the prevailing price of P5,550 per gram.

The illegal activities of Malubay was tipped off to the authorities by reformed drug users through the police hotline.

The suspect is facing charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
