MANILA, Philippines — Cagayan Valley and the Cordillera Administrative Region will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the tail-end of a cold front, the weather bureau said in its Friday 4:00 a.m. forecast.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said cloudy skies with light rains would prevail over the Ilocos Region due to northeast monsoon or hanging Amihan.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country, meanwhile, will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.
As for wind system, Pagasa said Northern Luzon would experience strong northeastern winds and rough (2.8 to 4.5 meters) coastal waters while the rest of Luzon would have moderate to strong east-northeast winds with moderate to rough (1.2 to 4.0 meters) coastal waters.
On the other hand, light to moderate northeast-northwest winds will blow over Visayas and Mindanao coupled with slight to moderate (0.6 to 2.5 meters) coastal waters.
The lowest temperature was 24.5°C recorded at 5:50 a.m. while the maximum temperature will be 30.8°C at 1:50 p.m., Pagasa said.
Typhoon Kammuri, which has since been downgraded to a low-pressure area outside the Philippine area of responsibility after leaving a trail of destruction and at least a dozen people dead, will longer directly affect the country, Pagasa weather specialist LorieDin Dela Cruz added.
