DILG to coordinate with airlines for delivery of donations to Tisoy victims
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) on Wednesday said it will work with airline industries to help local government units (LGUs) and other volunteers to swiftly deliver relief goods for Typhoon Tisoy victims in provinces.
“Magkakaroon kami ng announcement on arrangement with airlines para sa kababayan na gusto magpadala ng relief goods sa probinsya,” DILG Undersecretary and Spokesperson Jonathan Malaya said in a press conference at DILG office in Quezon City.
[We will make an announcement on our arrangement with airlines to help our countrymen in delivering relief goods in the provinces.]
“The DILG is working with the airline industry lahat ng gusto niyo ipadala, DILG na magpapadala sa LGU at wala na kayong babayaran. [anything that you would like to deliver, the DILG will deliver it to LGUs for free.],” he added.
Malaya said Interior Secretary Eduardo Año will be visiting typhoon-stricken areas such as in Bicol region for relief efforts and inspection of areas.
Article continues after this advertisementAccording to authorities, 13 people died due to the weather disturbance. Of the number, five casualties are recorded in the Bicol region.
