LUCENA CITY –– The top official of the military’s Southern Luzon Command (Solcom) assured Typhoon “Tisoy” victims of full assistance.

“Your soldiers, airmen, sailors, and marines of Southern Luzon are ready to assist you and your families when needed,” Lt. General Gilbert Gapay, Solcom commander said in a statement posted on his Facebook Tuesday.

He advised typhoon victims particularly those in the coastal and low-lying areas to cooperate with government agencies who would bring them to safer areas and relocation sites where government and other concerned groups are extending support.

The Task Force Sagip of the Army’s 9th Infantry Division in Bicol and 2nd Infantry Division in Southern Tagalog had been placed on standby to the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council./lzb
