MANILA, Philippines – Vice President Leni Robredo on Monday assured that her own report about the drug war based on her short stint as Inter-Agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs (ICAD) co-chair will be released “very soon”.
In an interview on the sidelines of the Angat Buhay Youth Peace Summit in Quezon City, Robredo said she’s just eyeing a proper time to discuss the matter especially since the Philippines is currently hosting the 30th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games.
“Hindi na muna (Not for now)… nakakahiya sa kanila, eh (it would be embarrassing to them),” the Vice President said, referring to participants of the Angat Buhay Youth Peace Summit when reporters asked if she could say anything about the much-anticipated report. Robredo has mentioned about issuing her own drug war report – which shall include her own findings and recommendations – when she held a press conference in Naga a day after Malacañang said President Rodrigo Duterte fired her as a co-chair of ICAD.
“Sa sunod na lang na araw. Sa sunod na araw, malapit na din. Pinapatapos ko lang iyong SEA Games,” she also said.

Duterte appointed Robredo as ICAD co-chair on October 31, after the President uleashed a slew of criticisms against the Vice President who had earlier criticized anew his brutal campaign against illegal drugs.
During her less than 20 days stint at ICAD, Robredo advocated for the scrapping of Oplan Tokhang; called for the creation of a uniform, baseline drug war data; and encouraged the involvement of communities and local government-led rehabilitation.
Prior to his decision to fire Robredo, Duterte said he distrusts her for the reason that she is an opposition leader and that she talked to organizations rebuked by the government.
