Soldiers donate allowances to earthquake survivors

/ 03:27 AM December 02, 2019

MANILA, Philippines — Army soldiers all over the country voluntarily donated their subsistence allowances for 120 temporary shelters for earthquake survivors in North Cotabato.

The Army’s Eastern Mindanao Command inaugurated the Internally Displaced Persons Center Project at Barangay San Vicente in Makilala town.

Four strong earthquakes have struck Mindanao this month, which have killed at least 23 people and wounded 563 others.

Around 13,000 families have since been staying in temporary shelters in addition to 25,000 other families staying with relatives. —MELVIN GASCON
