DILG, PNP back suspension of classes during SEA Games
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) on Wednesday backed “calls” for the suspension of classes in Metro Manila for the duration of the 30th Southeast Asian Games to ease traffic congestion in the metropolis.
At a press briefing on Wednesday DILG spokesperson Jonathan Malaya said, “We support the calls to declare class suspensions. If that decision is going to be made, that would be a big help in alleviating the traffic problem in Metro Manila.”
Malaya also pointed out that there were many venues in Metro Manila for the games.
