MANILA, Philippines — Over 265,000 overseas absentee voters have recently been deactivated by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) for failing to vote in two consecutive national elections.

This was on top of the 313,101 registered overseas workers whose right to vote was deactivated by the poll body as announced on Nov. 8.
