Makati City residential fire leaves P1.2M in property lost

MANILA, Philippines — The large blaze that swept through a residential area in Makati City on Tuesday left damages in property estimated at P1.2 million, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said.
In its report, the BFP said that the fire along JP Rizal corner Varona Streets in Barangay Tejeros caused more or less 26 houses to go up in flames.
The BFP added that 72 families were affected by the fire, and no casualty was reported.
According to fire officials, the blaze started from a room of a local resident living in the area.
The fire reached fourth alarm at 8:03 a.m., and was declared fire out at 10 a.m., the BFP said.
