Bong Pineda amusement park, speed track, flying club seen to put Lubao in tourism map
LUBAO, Pampanga—The rarely seen in public businessman Rodolfo “Bong” Pineda led groundbreaking rites for his latest venture, tourism estate Pradera Verde, on Monday, Nov. 25, which would give rise to a 23-hectare amusement park, a 13-hectare speed track and a 1.2-hectare kilometer runway for a flying club.
Pineda, who owns Pradera Verde and had repeatedly denied links to the illegal gaming racket ‘jueteng’, led ceremonies to mark the full development of the estate that had hosted hot air balloon and motor shows, golf tournaments and wakeboarding contests in the last three years.
The projects are scheduled to be finished in 2021.
The runway for ultra-light planes is currently being paved.
“These world-class facilities shall place Lubao in the tourism map,” said Provincial Board Member Mylyn Cayabyab, Pineda’s daughter, at the brief program.
