2 alleged ‘shabu’ peddlers fall in Lucena drug sting
LUCENA CITY – Police arrested two alleged notorious “shabu” (crystal meth) peddlers in a buy-bust operation in this city on Sunday, police said Monday.
Anti-illegal drugs operatives collared Aldrin Alandy, 45; and Allan Odoñio, 41, after the two allegedly sold shabu to police agent and an informant in a transaction in Barangay (village) Ilayang Dupay around 7:20 p.m.
Police seized 13 plastic sachets of “meth” weighing 7.8 grams worth P43,290 in the street market.
The report said the illegal activities of the suspects were tipped off to the authorities through “Project Blue Box,” the receptacles found in every barangay and other strategic areas around every municipality and police hotline.
“They were bold and notorious pushers. But they were also tipped off to us by their former clients who are now undergoing rehabilitation,” an operative told the Inquirer.
The suspects are facing charges for violation of Section 5, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
