2 nabbed for drugs, gun in Nueva Ecija

BONGABON, Nueva Ecija – A truck driver and a farmer were arrested on Saturday (Nov. 23) for illegal drugs and for possession of an unlicensed gun during two successive police operations conducted in this eastern Nueva Ecija municipality.

Truck driver Erwin Santiago, 23, was arrested in a 10:40 a.m. drug bust in Barangay (village) Kaingin when he was caught with six plastic sachets of suspected shabu (crystal meth), said Major Jaime Ferrer, town police chief.

Farmer Gilbert Alicaycay, 41, meanwhile was arrested for possession of a revolver with no serial numbers when police officers served him a search warrant issued by Palayan City Regional Trial Court at 6:40 a.m. in Sitio Malibago at Tugatog village.
