Malacañang hoping justice to come for Maguindanao massacre victims
MANILA, Philippines — “We hope that justice will finally come.”
Malacañang said this on Saturday as the country remembers the 10th anniversary of Maguindanao massacre, which took the lives of 58 people, including 32 journalists.
In a statement, Malacañang said the Duterte administration “remains resolute in giving justice to the victims and their families, as well as the maintenance of the protection of all media practitioners.”
The Supreme Court allowed the Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 221 Judge Jocelyn Solis-Reyes a one-month extension to resolve the Maguindanao massacre case.
A decision on the case was expected to be promulgated on November 20 but with the extension, the decision will be announced not later than December 20.
