Amparo Aspiras, widow of late DOT exec, passes away

MANILA, Philippines–Amparo M. Aspiras, widow of the late Tourism Secretary Jose D. Aspiras, passed away Wednesday afternoon at St. Luke‘s Hospital in Taguig surrounded by relatives and friends. She was 93.

Mrs. Aspiras was well known for her activities as chairperson of the Agoo Basilica Foundation, La Union Ladies Association and the Agoo Cooperative Bank. She was also a Papal awardee and a vice-governor of the province of La Union.

She had six children namely Aida, Babot (married to lawyer Babes Oreta, Boy [deceased], Cristy, Vicky [deceased] and Chef Reggie.

Her wake is at Heritage Memorial Chapels.
