4 cops wounded in Palawan clash
SAN PEDRO CITY—Four policemen were wounded in a clash with suspected communist rebels in Brooke’s Point town in Palawan province on Thursday.
Reports reaching the Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan) police identified two of the victims as Patrolmen Jayvee Golifardo and Darwin Cadang, both of the 1st Police Mobile Force Company.
Police Lt. Col. Socrates Faltado, spokesperson for the Mimaropa police, said the policemen were conducting intelligence operations in Barangay Maasin when they clashed with a still undetermined number of suspected New People’s Army rebels at 10:30 a.m.—MARICAR CINCO
