Fish vendor nabbed for allegedly raping minor

ILIGAN CITY –– Police arrested Tuesday a fish vendor in Barangay Tambacan here for allegedly raping his 15-year-old neighbor.

Major Abogado Mautin, chief of Iligan City Police Station 4, identified the suspect as Joel Madrazo, 30, a resident of Purok 4 in Barangay Tambacan.

Mautin said the victim reported to their office after she escaped from the suspect’s house where the alleged crime happened.

Citing the victim’s account, Mautin said the suspect invited the minor to a drinking spree, and when she got dizzy, Madrazo brought her to his house where the sexual abuse took place.

The suspect was arrested at his house and is now detained at police station 4, awaiting the filing of charges, while the victim was undergoing a medical examination.
