Free medicine for Valenzuela residents in ‘Botika ng Bayan’

/ 04:03 AM November 20, 2019

Needy residents of Valenzuela can now avail themselves of free medicine from the city’s two recently opened “Botika ng Bayan.” The one in Valenzuela City Emergency Hospital in Barangay Dalandanan will cater to District 1 residents while District 2 residents can go the second one at the City Hall in Barangay Karuhatan. According to Mayor Rex Gatchalian, both will have the 21 medicines prescribed by the Department of Health (DOH), including antacids, bronchodilators and antibiotics. “But should residents need other medicines and the local government detects high demand, the [DOH] has informed us that we can [make a] request],” he said. The two Botika ng Bayan branches were launched last week as part of the city’s 396th founding anniversary celebration.—MEG ADONIS
