Bishop David warns vs swindlers using his name

04:01 AM November 20, 2019

The Diocese of Kalookan on Tuesday warned the public against donor seekers using the name of Bishop Pablo Virgilio David. In a statement, the diocese warned that solicitations supposedly for the building of a tabernacle in Cebu were being done through Facebook Messenger using David’s name. “If you receive a PM (private message) on FB Messenger about [this]…, it’s not true,” it said. David, in a post on his Facebook account, said that his friends had been texting him to confirm if he was in Cebu and if he was really raising funds for the purchase of a tabernacle there. “Please ignore those messages. I am not in Cebu and I am not raising funds to buy an expensive tabernacle,” he stressed. “Somebody created a fake FB account using my photo and [they have] been sending private messages to my friends using that account. Please don’t get swindled by that impostor,” he said.—TINA G. SANTOS
