Magnitude 4.2 earthquake jolts Davao Oriental
MANILA, Philippines—A magnitude 4.2 earthquake hit Davao Oriental on Tuesday afternoon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.
Phivolcs said the quake occurred at 3:00 p.m., with the epicenter located nine kilometers northwest of Lupon, Davao Oriental.
The quake was of tectonic origin and had a depth of 32 kilometers.
Intensity III was recorded in Davao City.
Instrumental Intensities were also recorded in the following areas:
Intensity II – Davao City
Intensity I – Kidapawan City
Phivolcs said no aftershocks and damage were expected following the quake.
