Arroyo graft raps in Sandigan bailable

MANILA, Philippines — Former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s graft case at the Sandiganbayan is a bailable offense and bail is set at P70,000, according to her charge sheet.

Arroyo is charged with two counts of violation of the anti-graft law, and one count of violation of the code of conduct and ethical standards for public officials.

Her bail is P30,000 for each graft count and P10,000 for the violation of code of conduct and ethical standards.

Arroyo is currently detained at the Veterans’ Memorial Medical Center in Quezon City.

Also charged with Arroyo in connection with the controversial National Broadband Network(NBN) deal were former first gentleman Jose Miguel Arroyo, former elections chief Benjamin Abalos and former Transportation Secretary Leandro Mendoza.

Jose Miguel Arroyo, Abalos and Mendoza are facing one count of graft each. Their bail is set at P30,000.
