‘Ka Marlboro’ surrenders, says Army

ECHAGUE, Isabela–A rebel squad leader on Monday surrendered to Army soldiers of the 502nd Infantry Brigade in this town, authorities said.

The rebel leader, who was only identified as alias “Ka Marlboro” by the military for security reasons, belongs to the Kilusang Larangang Gerilya-Central Front operating in the towns of San Mariano, San Guillermo, Echague, Jones and San Agustin.

He also turned over his M-16 Armalite rifles, eight magazines with 230 bullets, a handheld radio, two blasting caps with detonating cords, a bandolier, personal belongings, anti-government materials and other items.
