SC continues probe of ‘narcojudges’

MANILA, Philippines — The Supreme Court is still investigating an unannounced number of “narcojudges,” or judges accused of protecting drug lords and syndicates, Chief Justice Diosdado Peralta said on Friday.

“We are investigating them and I think there are already recommendations submitted to the court en banc and in due time we will be coming out with some resolutions on these alleged narcojudges,” Peralta said.

Peralta was tasked with leading a fact-finding team on narcojudges even before he was named Chief Justice.

He said corruption cases were usually handled by the Office of the Court Administrator. —Jerome Aning
