Suspect in murder of man in Manila hotel surrenders to police

MANILA, Philippines — A suspect in the murder of a man inside a hotel in Manila surrendered to police in Laguna on Wednesday.

A report from the Manila Public Information Office said Dennis Zausa, 35, surrendered to members of the Manila Police District Special Mayor’s Reaction Team (MPD-SMaRT) at a fast-food restaurant in Barangay Tubigan, Biñan, Laguna.

Zausa is a suspect in the killing of Billy John Ferolin, 23, a chemical engineering graduate.

Police said Ferolin and Zausa checked-in at a hotel in Sampaloc, Manila on Nov. 1. Police later found Ferolin dead from several stab wounds.

Zausa’s live-in partner later informed Manila City Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan that Zausa is willing to surrender to authorities.

Zausa is now under the custody of the MPD-SMaRT and will be facing appropriate charges. /muf
