Probe of cop’s killing ordered
MANILA, Philippines — Authorities have yet to establish the motive for the killing of a policeman on Tuesday night in Quezon City.
But Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director Col. Ronnie Montejo on Wednesday ordered the creation of a special investigation task group to probe the case of Lt. Ernesto Mendoza.
According to a police report, the 52-year-old Mendoza was on his way home from Camp Karingal on his motorcycle when he was shot dead on Malingap Street in Barangay Teachers Village by two men on a motorcycle. —Mariejo S. Ramos
