ITCZ, northeast monsoon to bring rains on Sunday — Pagasa
MANILA, Philippines — Umbrellas and raincoats are needed this Sunday as the northeast monsoon or “amihan” and Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will bring rains over the country, state weather bureau said.
In a 4 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the northeast monsoon will affect Northern and Central Luzon.
Pagasa also said the low pressure area (LPA), which left the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Saturday, reentered and is now inside the ITCZ. It was last spotted at 420 kilometers west northwest of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.
Metro Manila and other areas of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains due to localized thunderstorms.
MIMAROPA, Western Visayas, and Zamboanga Peninsula will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the ITCZ.
Cloudy skies and light rains will persist over Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley and Aurora province caused by amihan. /je
