MANILA, Philippines — On the observance of All Souls’ Day on Saturday, Malacañang reminded the public to “do good, kindness, compassion and forgiving” while still living.
“It is thus a good reminder to everyone, regardless of one’s status in life, to put meaning to their existence and to the time they spent whilst living,” Panelo said in a statement. “Let us henceforth do good, kindness, compassion, and forgiving.”
Panelo added that aside from the Palace joining the Catholic faithful in observing All Souls’ Day, the occasion is also a reminder of “how fleeting life is and how short time is.”
Panelo also reminded the public in his statement to “be the force of change that we want to see in society,” and to “love one another and spread love.”
“The Palace wishes everyone a peaceful and meaningful observance,” Panelo said.
Nov. 2 was declared an additional special non-working holiday, as issued in Proclamation No. 555 released by Malacañang that listed the holidays for 2019. /jpv
