LOOK: Fans remember famous idols at Manila North Cemetery

MANILA, Philippines – Burial places of celebrities at the Manila North Cemetery were visited by their supporters and relatives on Friday, All Saints’ Day.

People – supporters and kibitzers – stopped by the gravesites of politicians and artists like former President Sergio Osmeña, former Senator Claro M. Recto, National Artist Atang dela Rama, and King of Philippine Movies Fernando “Da King” Poe Jr.

A wreath from President Rodrigo Duterte was seen beside Osmeña’s tomb, while flowers from Recto’s grandson, Senator Ralph Recto, adorned the late statesman’s tomb.

Fans of Poe also dropped by to pay their respects to the film star while his daughter, Senator Grace Poe, was reported to have dropped by on the eve of All Saints’ Day.

In a post on her Instagram account on Thursday, Poe posed with members of the Manila Police District (MPD) who visited FPJ’s mausoleum.

The Manila North Cemetery is one of Metro Manila’s biggest cemeteries.  As of 11 a.m. Friday, MPD said that 225,000 individuals have already visited the burial ground while approximately 200,000 more were still inside the cemetery as of posting. /kga
