MPD: Manila North Cemetery crowd swells to over 200,000

MANILA, Philippines – The crowd inside the Manila North Cemetery swelled to over 200,000 as of 11 a.m. of Friday, All Saints’ Day, the Manila Police District (MPD) reported.

Authorities noted that the situation remains generally peaceful, so far,  although confiscated contraband items such as cigarettes, alcoholic drinks,  flammable items, pointed objects, and gardening tools have been piling up.

Data from MPD showed that 75 bladed weapons, 505 packs of cigarettes, 2,880 flammable items, two liquors, two playing cards, and at least nine paints have been seized from visitors at the main gate along Blumentritt Street. /gsg
