Manila South Cemetery offers e-trike, wheelchairs to elders, PWDs

MANILA, Philippines — The Manila South Cemetery on Thursday provided wheelchairs and e-tricycles to make visits more accessible for elders and persons with disabilities (PWDs) for “Undas” season.

Wheelchairs were given by the Manila Department of Social Welfare and other volunteers.

Twenty wheelchairs were stationed at the cemetery for elders.

Fifteen e-trikes were available to give free rides for pregnant women, senior citizens and PWDs who will visit their loved ones.

As of writing, police said 1,203 individuals visited the cemetery ahead of All Saints’ Day (Nov. 1) and All Souls’ Day (Nov. 2).

Law enforcers confiscated 38 prohibited items, of which eight are bladed weapons, 26 are flammable items and 15 are gardening tools. /je
