MANILA, Philippines – A series of mild earthquakes rattled Cotabato anew on Thursday, days after a magnitude 6.6 temblor pounded the province and other parts of Mindanao that left at least seven people dead.

The strongest of the more than 40 mild earthquakes, a magnitude 4.7, struck at 4:35 a.m., 19 kilometers southeast of Tulunan, Cotabato, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
It had a depth of 9 kilometers, was tectonic in origin and was felt at Intensity IV in Kidapawan City.
Almost an hour later, a magnitude 4.6 earthquake rocked the same Cotabato town anew and was felt at Intensity V in Kidapawan City.
Phivolcs said no damage or aftershocks are expected from the two earthquakes. /gsg
