MMDA suspends number coding scheme for 2019 Undas

MANILA, Philippines – The number coding scheme is lifted as several passengers are expected to travel in their provinces for this year’s All Souls’ Day and All Saints’ Day or “Undas,” the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said Friday.

In a statement, MMDA said the Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program (UVVRP) or number coding for provincial buses is lifted on Oct. 31 (Thursday) and Nov. 4 (Monday).

Meanwhile, the number coding scheme for private and public vehicles is suspended on Nov. 1 (Friday).

MMDA Chairman Danilo Lim said MMDA will mandate no day-off and no absent policy for its traffic enforcers on Oct. 31, Nov. 1 and Nov. 4.

“A no-day off, no absent policy will be enforced among our traffic enforcers on October 31, November 1 and November 4,” Lim said.
