MANILA, Philippines – More than 2,300 Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) personnel will be deployed in the National Capital Region for this year’s All Souls Day and All Saints’ Day or “Undas” season.
MMDA chairman Danilo Lim said in a statement Friday their personnel will be stationed at key areas in Metro Manila from October 30 to November 4 to render assistance to people who will visit their loved ones in cemeteries.
MMDA’s traffic discipline office will be stationed at major thoroughfares, bus terminals, and other transport hubs, MMDA also noted.
MMDA will likewise monitor major cemeteries including Manila North Cemetery, Manila South Cemetery, Bagbag Public Cemetery, Loyola Memorial Park, and San Juan Public Cemetery, it added.
The Metro Parkway Clearing Group, meanwhile, was tasked to maintain cleanliness in cemeteries before and after November 1.
MMDA’s Road Emergency Group, on the other hand, will establish public assistance centers and preposition ambulances at Manila North Cemetery, Loyola Memorial Park, Bagbag Public Cemetery, San Juan Public Cemetery, Philtranco in Pasay, and Araneta Terminal Station in Cubao for rescue services, according to the agency. /kga
