Cop assigned to Bicol slain in Antipolo City
SAN PEDRO CITY –– A police officer was shot and killed by motorcycle-riding gunmen in Antipolo City in Rizal province.
The Rizal police on Thursday said it had yet to determine a motive in the killing of police Staff Sargeant Jose Delos Reyes, 55.
Delos Reyes was assigned to Camarines Sur province in the Bicol region, although a driver’s license recovered from the scene showed he was from Caloocan City in Metro Manila.
A police report showed that around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Delos Reyes had just alighted from a tricycle near a passenger jeepney terminal in Barangay San Jose, Antipolo City when the gunmen drove by.
One of the gunmen reportedly drew and fired his gun, hitting Delos Reyes in the head. Delos Reyes died on the spot.
