Relatives of 14-yr-old rape-slay victim cry for justice

AMULUNG, Cagayan–Relatives of the 14-year-old girl, who was raped and killed allegedly by her distant uncle, are demanding justice.
The body of the Grade 7 student was found at the village of Pacac Pequeno here after she failed to return home from school last week. Her hands were tied behind her back.
“We call for swift justice as her death is so gruesome and painful for us,” her mother Corazon, 40, told the Inquirer.
Forensic test results showed she was raped and was killed by strangulation.
The suspect, who had already been arrested and indicted for rape with homicide, later claimed that he was drunk and admitted choking the girl to death.
