Cops seize marijuana plants in Oriental Mindoro town

CITY OF CALAPAN – Marijuana plants were found by police on Sunday hidden among thick shrubs in Bansud town in Oriental Mindoro, police report said.

Lt. Col. Socrates Faltado, a Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan police information officer, said police from Bansud and Oriental Mindoro conducted an anti-illegal drugs operation at Sitio (sub-village) Piit in Barangay (village) Bato upon receiving information of an alleged marijuana cultivation area in the village on Saturday.

Police recovered three plants of alleged Cannabis sativa (marijuana) at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday during an ocular inspection.

Sources told police that a known marijuana user loitered the area during early hours in the morning and late in the afternoon.

Police are looking for the marijuana user who is suspected of growing the marijuana plants. /je
