Pedestrian killed by speeding van in Quezon highway

LUCENA CITY –– A pederstrian was killed after being hit by a speeding van along the Maharlika Highway in Pagbilao town in Quezon province shortly before midnight Friday.

A report from the Pagbilao police said the van driven by Eldie Sincero, 58, hit Redentor Reyes, 44, as he was walking at the side of the highway in Barangay Pinagbayanan around 11:30 p.m.

Reyes died while being taken to Quezon Medical Center in Lucena City due to grave body injuries.

Police said the van occupied the other lane and hit Reyes. Sincero was detained at the local police jail. Delfin T. Mallari Jr./lzb
