A Mastiff weighing a hefty 190 pounds had to be rescued from a hike on Sunday, Oct. 13, in Utah, USA, after it refused to walk following a long hike.

The dog, out of exhaustion, didn’t budge at the trail and required a rescue group to carry him down the mountain.

Floyd, a 3-year-old dog, was with his human family on the Grandeur Peak Trail when they took a wrong turn to go down the trail, Buzzfeed News reported on Tuesday, Oct. 15.

As the family headed back to the correct path, Floyd lay down on the ground. Most of the family, which included small children, was able to make the descent, while Floyd’s owner stayed with him.

There was no cell reception in the mountain, so it was with the help of fellow hikers that 911 was called and volunteer group Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue was able to respond to the situation.

Pictures and videos of Floyd’s ordeal are posted on the volunteer group’s Facebook page.

Floyd was cooperative with his rescue, which involved getting into a litter and being wheeled down. After a wheel broke, he was fine, too, with being carried in the litter.

The rescue group cited injuries as the reason for the Mastiff’s rescue in its page, but a squad leader of the group, Shawn Kenney, told Huffington Post on Wednesday, Oct. 16: “The dog was mostly tired. It’s a really big hike and it’s a huge dog.”

The squad was called out at 6:30 p.m. and brought Floyd down safely by 10:30 p.m. before it became too cold.  Niña V. Guno /ra
