The suspect, also an Australian national, is still at large, Cortez told Radyo Inquirer.

Based on the initial investigation by the Olongapo City Police Office as stated by Cortez, the victims and the suspect were all in the same vehicle–a Mitsubishi Miarage–when the incident happened. The vehicle stopped in front of a hardware store before gunshots were heard.

Police said the driver also suffered bullet wounds but managed to crawl toward the sidewalk along Rizal Avenue here.

“Dun po sa CCTV na ni-report sa amin, yung kotse po ay nag-park tapos umabante ng konti tapos meron pong apat na muffled na tunog na narinig yung hardware, nakasarado pa po yung bintana nung sasakyan eh. So sa loob po nangyari yung barilan, ” Cortez said.

(Based on the CCTV video that was reported to us, the car stopped and then moved on a bit, then there were four muffled shots that were heard by the hardware, the windows were still closed. So the shooting happened inside the car.)

A two-year-old child was also inside the vehicle when the incident transpired, Cortez said, but managed to survive. The child is in the care of authorities, the vice mayor added. /jpv / lzb
